Questions About Our Killarney Walks

Everything you need to know about the Torc Waterfall and Muckross Friars Glen loop experiences

The full route to Torc Waterfall and back takes about 2.5 to 3 hours at a comfortable pace, including rest stops. We build in time to catch your breath at scenic viewpoints and chat about the landscape. If you'd prefer something shorter, we can turn back at the halfway point—it's completely flexible.

The glen loop is one of our gentler routes—mostly flat woodland paths with a few gradual inclines. We're used to working with people getting back into walking, and we'll pace it to suit you. There are benches dotted along the way if you need to rest, and you'll learn the history of the old friars' site as we go.

Comfortable walking shoes with good grip are fine—you don't need expensive hiking boots. Bring water, a light snack, and weather-appropriate layers since Killarney's weather changes quickly. We'll email you a full packing list when you book, plus we always carry a first aid kit and extra water.

Technically yes, but we don't recommend it. Each walk deserves its own day so you can enjoy the scenery and history without rushing. The Torc Waterfall walk takes 2.5-3 hours and the Muckross Glen loop takes around 2 hours—back-to-back is a lot for one day. We're happy to help you plan two separate visits though.

We walk in light rain—it's Ireland, after all—but we'll reschedule if there's severe weather or unsafe conditions. You'll get a full refund or a rescheduled date, no questions asked. We'll give you a heads-up the evening before if we think conditions won't be suitable.

Yes, both trails start from car parks with accessible spaces. Torc Waterfall is about a 10-minute walk from the main car park, and the Muckross Glen entrance has dedicated parking nearby. If you have mobility concerns, let us know when you book and we'll go over the exact logistics with you.
